Chinese “Mango child cultural ambassadors” arrived in Perak, Malaysia, on July 24, 2017. They will experience Malaysian arts, history, culture, and folk customs, to obtain a better understanding of Malaysia and Malaysians.
At the welcoming ceremony, 15 Malaysian children in varying national dress presented their Chinese friends with garlands. Datuk Heng Seai Kie, Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) Advisor, Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Deputy President, and Wanita MCA National Chairman, extended a warm welcome to the Chinese “child ambassadors”.
During the 7-day tour, the Chinese and Malaysian children, together with their parents, will go to Gopeng, Penang, Langkawi, and Kuala Lumpur. They will visit native villages; release young turtles at the Turtle Care Center; attend a parent-child cooking contest and sports games; appreciate Penang wall painting and batik art; visit the aged at a nursing home; and, exchange cultural gifts—an unforgettable childhood experience.
This tour will initiate a reality TV show by the Hunan TV World Channel. Malaysia is its first destination. The program aims to organize friendly exchanges between the children of China and the “Belt and Road” countries, to give them comprehensive understanding of each other’s culture, and wonderful memories. Destinations, such as Singapore, are recruiting participants.
